Policies and House Rules
We have to ensure that you enjoy your stay with us therefore we have measurements in place to guarantee the safety, health, and cleanliness of 8 Ocean Drive.
Cancellation Policy
- A 50% deposit is required within 24 hours of booking when the booking is made 14 days before arrival.
* The balance of the booking is required 14 days before arrival. - A 100% payment is required within 24 hours of booking when the booking is made less than 14 days before arrival.
All cancellations must be in writing.
Refund of deposit
- Free of charge until 14 days before arrival
- No refund if cancelled in less than 14 days
- No refund for a “no-show”
Damage deposit
In making a booking you accept responsibility for any theft, breakage, or damage caused by you, pets, or any member of your party and agree to indemnify us in full for any loss that we may incur as a result. The accommodation will be inspected at the end of the holiday & you may be charged for any loss or damage.
- A deposit of R 1,000 is required
- Payment can be made via bank transfer
- You return your damaged deposit by Bank transfer
- A deposit will be returned if no damages 7 days after check-out
- The damage deposit will be returned by: Bank transfer
Cleaning fee
- A set fee of R 450 is charged for deep cleaning on checkout
- As it is a self-catering unit guests are responsible for cleaning the unit during their stay. Additional cleaning can be arranged at R 250 per day. Kindly request this service from your guest
Check-in & Check-out Times
- Check-in from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Check-out from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM
Pet Policy
Pets are welcome but permission must be obtained beforehand.
If permission is granted pet owners must adhere to the following rules;
- Only dogs are allowed unless other pets are approved by the host.
- Dogs must be under 20 kilograms and at least 2 years old.
- The number of dogs to be approved by the host.
- Dogs must always be properly controlled and supervised.
- Dogs are not to be left unattended inside the property.
- Dogs are not permitted on any of the furniture or bedrooms.
- Guests must bring a dog basket to ensure that the unit is kept in the highest condition for all guests.
- Guests must clean up after their dogs, inside and outside the unit. If not extra cleaning costs may be charged.
- A special bin will be made available for the disposal of dog waste.
- Any damages caused by pets will be charged additionally.
House Rules
- Smoking is not allowed outside the designated area.
- Pets are allowed by request. Charges may apply.
- No parties or events without the consent of the host – the maximum number of persons using the accommodation at any time must not exceed (4 persons). We reserve the right to terminate the booking without notice and without a refund in case of a breach of this condition.
- Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under eighteen years of age.
- The owner reserves the right to refuse a booking without giving any reason.
- We or our representatives reserve the right to enter the property at any time to undertake essential maintenance or for inspection purposes.
- Please treat the facilities & accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. If you notice something is missing or damaged in your accommodation, please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. If there has been any damage or breakages during your stay, we would be grateful if you could report them promptly, especially before check-out.
- Please do not move any furniture from one room to another.
- Please lock the doors and close the windows when you leave the property unoccupied.
- Please make sure you switch off lights, heating, air conditioning, or any electrical appliances when you go out – we’re an eco-friendly holiday home.
- Please don’t take any bath towels with you to the beach
- The owner reserves the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the client leaves the property in an unacceptable condition.
- Please note that if any keys issued are not returned at the end of your stay, then the cost of replacement will be charged to you.
- Guests are not allowed under any circumstance to re-let or sublet the property, even free of charge.
- The owner shall not be liable for any temporary defect or malfunction of any equipment, machinery, or appliance in the building, grounds, or hot tub/pool.
- No compensation will be given for any temporary outage of electricity, gas, water, internet connection, or television service.
- The owners are not responsible for the loss of any personal belongings or valuables of the guest.
- All inventory must remain in the property and not be taken to another property.
- Guests are responsible for the safety and security of their children at all times. Never leave children without adult supervision.
- Please park your vehicle in the designated parking space, ensuring that it does not block access to other properties.
- Please respect the community and try to keep noise levels to a minimum, especially between 11 pm and 8 am.
- We reserve the right to terminate a holiday without compensation where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking (or their guests) may impair the enjoyment, comfort, or health of others.
- Braai (BBQ) – please use the designated utensils and clean the braai after use.
- Candles are not allowed inside the unit.
- Any problem or complaint must be immediately reported directly to us/our representatives and we will endeavour to put matters right. Any complaints not reported to us/the property manager at the time and only reported after the client has returned from holiday will not be considered by the proprietor.
- We reserve the right to make reasonable amendments or additions to these terms and conditions without notice.
- This property is privately owned and is our home. We expect all guests to enjoy the facilities and treat the property with the same respect that they would with their own house.
